How do I manage residents, permissions and invitations in my community?
Published 11 June 2026
To manage your community's residents, the administrator invites them by email, assigns them permissions for the specific doors they can open, and revokes that access when someone leaves the community. It all happens from a web dashboard, without handing out or collecting remotes. With PuertApp, a single administrator can manage several communities from the same account.
Registering residents by invitation
Registration is by invitation, not open. The community administrator (president or property manager) enters the resident's email and sends an invitation. The resident receives it, downloads the app, and is registered, linked to their community.
This model keeps control in the community's hands: no one can sign up on their own or access without being invited. If a resident should not have access, they are simply not invited.
Per-door permissions
Not every resident needs to open every door. A community may have a garage, a pedestrian door and several entrances, and not all of them apply to each user. The administrator assigns permissions per door: each resident is enabled only for the doors they are entitled to.
So a garage-space owner can open the garage and the pedestrian door, while another profile might have only the pedestrian door. Permissions can be adjusted at any time from the panel.
Revoking access and managing several communities
When a resident leaves or a home is sold, the administrator revokes their access from the panel, with no need to recover physical remotes or change anything at the door. The access stops working immediately.
For property managers handling several communities, a single account manages them all: inviting residents, assigning permissions and revoking access in each community from the same panel, with each community's activity logged separately.
Frequently asked questions
How is a new resident registered?
The administrator invites them by email. The resident accepts the invitation, downloads the app, and is linked to their community.
Can I grant access to only some doors?
Yes. Permissions are assigned per door, so each resident can only open the doors they are entitled to.
How is access removed from someone who leaves?
The administrator revokes access from the panel and it stops working immediately, with no remotes to collect or installation to touch.
Can one administrator handle several communities?
Yes. A single administrator can manage several communities from the same account, with each community's activity logged separately.
